About the program
An apprenticeship in curiosity
Venture is learned
by doing the work.
The Pelion internship is a 10–12 week introduction to how investors discover, understand, and support enduring technology companies.
Interns work alongside the team and learn the craft from the inside: researching markets, meeting founders, developing an investment point of view, and communicating ideas with clarity.
We look for intellectual honesty, initiative, strong judgment, and a genuine fascination with how businesses are built. Prior venture experience is not the point. Evidence that you learn quickly is.
Due Diligence
Pressure-test an investment thesis through market research, customer insight, financial analysis, and competitive work.
Portfolio Support
Help portfolio companies answer strategic questions and complete focused projects that move important work forward.
Firm Operations
Strengthen Pelion’s internal workflows through research, data, special projects, and practical tools for the investment team.
The work
What you’ll actually do.
Interns contribute across deal sourcing, diligence, portfolio company support, market research, and a hands-on builder project.
Company research
Analyze public and private companies’ business models, markets, financials, and valuations.
Market signals
Translate earnings calls and industry research into clear insights and questions.
Investment thinking
Write concise gut-check memos on the market, team, product, risks, and thesis.
Deal sourcing
Find promising software companies and develop a thoughtful point of view before outreach.
Builder project
Use modern AI tools to create a software project that solves a real workflow problem.
Final presentation
Synthesize the companies, projects, and lessons that shaped your summer.

Foundation
Learn Pelion’s investment approach, meet the team, build your VC vocabulary, and begin sourcing companies.
02Days 31–60
Build
Increase your sourcing cadence, summarize market signals, shadow active diligence, and begin a sector project.
03Days 61–90
Deliver
Support portfolio work, build and demo a useful software tool, and present what you learned to the team.
